HAVE YOU SUFFERED WITH DIGESTIVE ISSUES FOR MANY YEARS, ONLY TO BE TOLD BY YOUR DOCTOR THAT YOU HAVE IBS AND THAT THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO?

DO YOU FIND YOUR DIET BECOMING MORE AND MORE RESTRICTED AS YOU CUT OUT FOODS IN A BID TO WORK OUT WHAT'S CAUSING YOUR SYMPTOMS?

If  so then digestive function tests  may help you uncover the underlying causes of your pain and discomfort.

Tests can provide the information needed to tailor a nutritional programme just for you. We can look at specific dietary needs and introduce medicinal herbs and supplements to improve your digestive health.

Common tests :

STOOL ANALYSIS

Reveals the health of the large intestine and provides insights into issues such as; lack of digestion, inflammation, liver function and fat absorption.  Results show the levels of beneficial and harmful bacteria in the digestive tract as well as overgrowth of yeasts and presence of parasites, all of which can lead to bloating, pain and IBS.

SMALL INTESTINAL BACTERIAL OVERGROWTH (SIBO)

SIBO is an overgrowth of gas producing bacteria in the small intestine. This can cause symptoms such as reflux, indigestion, bloating, constipation and diarrhoea. SIBO tests are breath tests that look for certain gases produced by this unwanted bacteria.

FOOD INTOLERANCE & ALLERGY TESTING

These tests can help identify foods that should be avoided. Intolerances usually occur when the lining of the digestive tract is damaged (‘leaky gut’), so looking for the root cause of the intolerance is important. Food intolerance testing is sometimes used to identify specific foods that a client is reacting to, however, the important work is in identifying the root cause of the intolerance. If this is not found, the client is likely to become intolerant to an increasing number of foods.
